James P. Frego II
Jim is the founder and managing partner of Frego and Associates, which has been the largest bankruptcy law firm in Michigan for over 12 years and is among the Top 10 in the nation. Nationally recognized as an expert in the field, Jim has dedicated most of his legal career to helping people get debt relief from financial concerns of all kinds. He has used his knowledge and experience to teach bankruptcy to attorneys at several classes and seminars. A graduate of the University of Michigan and Loyola Law School, Jim has handled and filed more bankruptcy cases than anyone else in the history of the State of Michigan, and has been certified as a Specialist in Consumer Bankruptcy. Jim’s passion for helping people comes from his belief that everyone deserves a second chance …sometimes bad things happen to good people.
Danielle M. Miller
Danielle is an Attorney Manager and Senior Attorney at Frego & Associates. She is a graduate of the University of Michigan and University of Michigan Law School, respectively. She has 11 years of exclusive bankruptcy experience where she has adeptly and successfully handled thousands of Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 bankruptcy cases. Danielle is dedicated and driven to find solutions that meet the individual needs of prospective clients, and she is committed to providing competent and affordable service to all.
Glen T. Turpening
Glen is a senior bankruptcy attorney at Frego & Associates. He has 13 years of experience in the Bankruptcy field and has successfully handled thousands of cases. He thoroughly enjoys meeting new clients and helping them navigate their financial issues and aiding them in overcoming monetary difficulties.
David S. Wilkinson
David is a Senior Attorney at Frego and Associates. He has chosen to specialize in Bankruptcy Law because he believes it is one of the few areas where you can make a positive impact for your client in a short period of time. He enjoys the “problem solving” aspect of Bankruptcy cases and is certain that every client’s situation has a solution. Prior to working at Frego and Associates Dave worked as an Assistant County Prosecutor.
Jay E. Piggott
Jay is a Senior Attorney at Frego and Associates. He graduated from Wayne State University Law School in 2004 and since that time has practiced exclusively in the area of Bankruptcy. He has handled thousands of cases in both Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 bankruptcy. Jay is a welcoming, approachable bankruptcy attorney skilled in helping clients find feasible and reasonable solutions to their most pressing financial problems.
Toni D. Valchanov
Toni is an Associate Attorney at Frego and Associates. Prior to becoming an Attorney, Toni was a Paralegal with Frego and Associates. Because he enjoys seeing the results of his focus and energy on a daily basis, Toni became a Bankruptcy Attorney. He relishes finding purpose in the service of a higher cause – helping out people who truly need help.
Joseph L. Bernwanger
Joseph has been a practicing bankruptcy attorney since 2008. He graduated from Wayne State University in Detroit in 2004 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science, and he obtained his law degree from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law in 2008. Joe treats each and every client with the respect they’re entitled to. He doesn’t judge or offer blame, but will compassionately guide the client through some of the most difficult times of their lives. He has helped clients deal with foreclosures, overbearing debt collectors, traffic tickets and misdemeanors, family conflicts and custody issues and with general legal representation.
Mandi L. Sokana
Mandi graduated from Wayne State University Law School in 2006. She has been practicing Bankruptcy Law since 2007. Mandi has been with Frego & Associates since 2011. She has a passion for helping people and loves knowing that Bankruptcy is giving people the fresh start that they need.
Eric P. Mulka
Eric is an Associate Attorney at Frego & Associates. Eric has been practicing law since 2010 and has been with the firm his entire legal career. Eric graduated from the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor in 2003 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and Philosophy and later completed his studies in 2010 graduating Cum Laude from Thomas M. Cooley Law School. Eric has helped individuals navigate their financial hardships in over 2000 cases. He enjoys bankruptcy law for its complexity and focuses his efforts on relieving his client’s anxiety and frustrations experienced at some of the most troubling period of their lives.
